GUS Albania is an NGO born in September 2015, with its Headquarter in Tirana.
We are fully aware of the importance of EU integration path for our country. Gus Albania act as responsible member of Albanian Civil Society and is committed to play a relevant role for its empowerment,with special regard to the role of youth and the strengthening of democracy and human rights. Our actions and projects deal with good-governance, Human rights watchdog, and engagement with the Albanian society on long lasting and emerging issues, such as the Reform of the Justice System, free and fair elections, promotion of participative decision-making, legal support for vulnerable groups, among others. Over the last year, our organization has increased its preparedness and capacities in responding to emergency situations, including natural disasters and migratory waves, as these issues gained importance among the current challenges of the country.
Our activities encompass the following:
– Strengthening Albanian CSOs by providing specific trainings, workshops, conferences and policy- making / think tank activities;
– Youth Empowerment by conducting projects on Youth Social Inclusion, Capacity Building, Non – Formal Education, Youth Exchange, Youth Policies;
– Addressing Migration and related emergencies, through projects on Refugees Rights, Exchanges of Migration Best Practices in EU countries and in the Ballkans, Non Accompanied Albanian Minors in Italy, Migration Policies and civil society role, Monitoring of the Law Enforcement on Refugees/Migrants;
– Contributing in the field of Human Rights, through observing, communicating and working with other actors of Albanian CSO’s and public Institutions.

GUS Albania is active part of several NGOs and academic networks operating across the Balkan Region, with particular interest in enhancig civil society, democracy and human rights.
